Learn how to promote your blog and business on your Facebook profile so you don't miss out on visibility! Get your blog and business more visible on Facebook. #blogging #bloggingtips #bloggers

Are you active on Facebook groups? If you answer yes to this question, you must read this article to the end. It’s an order! I’ll give you five ways to promote your blog on your FB profile. It takes 10 minutes to do, and it could bring you many visitors!

When I am on a Facebook group, and I see people commenting about their blog, I regularly want to go and read it. By cons, in 75% of the cases, their blog can not be found on their Facebook profile! It is written nowhere!

I can’t take the time to ask all those who makes me curious what the address of their blog is. I would waste a lot of time. So, I move on! Unfortunately, I could have fallen in love with this blog … Opportunity missed!

Show your blog on your Facebook profile

As you can see on the picture below, there are 4 places on the computer where it is easy to promote your blog. You can choose what you like best, or do as I do and put it everywhere! 😉

There is a fifth place that you can use to promote your blog and social networks on mobile only, and I will show you how to have this at the end of this article!

promotion facebook - vue mobile

Intro and featured image

  1. Go to your Facebook profile
  2. Click on « Edit profile » on your cover photo
promotion facebook - modifier le profil
  3. In the window that appears, you can directly add your intro and your featured image (which would be your logo).
    promotion facebook - personnaliser informations
  4. Once done, save the two sections separately by clicking on the blue “Save” button!

Work section

  1. Go to your FB profile, and click on “Edit profile” on your cover photo.
  2. In the window that opens, click on “Add a workspace”
    promotion facebook - personnaliser informations
  3. You will be redirected to another page, where you will need to click on “Add a workplace” again.
  4. Fill the information asked as if it was for a job
    1. Company: enter the name of your Facebook Page, it should be suggested and select it. If you just enter plain text, it won’t be clickable and won’t bring people directly to your page, which is what we want to do. If your Facebook page doesn’t appear, you can try this.
    2. Position: use what you want! I wrote “owner”
    3. City, Description: the name of the fields is pretty clear!
    4. Then, enter the date of when you created your blog, check the box that says you still work there.
      Facebook promotion
  5. Before saving your changes, click on the icon where it’s written “Friends” for me and click on “Public” so everyone can see it.
  6. Click on save!

Show the pages you manage

This is a new option on Facebook; it might still be rolling out so you might not be able to do it just yet!

  1. Go to your Facebook profile
  2. In your information in the left sidebar, there should be a link that says “Show the pages you manage” Click on it!
Link on Facebook profile to add pages we manage
  3. In the pop-up, select the pages you wish to show on your profile.
    Facebook promotion
  4. Now, click on the Save button. Make sure your changes are shown to the “Public” like it is in the previous screenshot

Show your blog and social media on mobile

aperçu mobile - promotion facebook

  1. Go to your Facebook profile
  2. Click on the “About” tab
  3. On the left-hand side, click on “Contact and Basic info”
  4. To add the address of your website, click on “+ Add a website”. Make sure it’s in Public mode.
  5. To add social media, click on « + Add another social link »
  6. Add as many social links as you want, like this :
    Facebook promotion
  7. Make sure that these links are visible to everyone so that the confidentiality option is “Public.”
  8. Click on save, and you’re done!

How to check if your changes are visible to everyone

You’ve just made changes to your Facebook profile to promote on your blog, but are these changes actually visible to everyone, especially those not in your Facebook friends ?! It’s time to check!

  1. Go to your Facebook profile, again!
  2. Click on “…” then “View as…”
    Facebook promotion
  3. That’s it! You see your profile as if you were a complete stranger.
Check if all your changes are visible: your intro, your work, the Facebook page you manage, and your featured image.

    1. If so, then you’re done!
    2. If not, then go back to these changes and make sure they are in “Public” mode.

Conclusion

And that’s all! I hope this article helped you! Don’t hesitate if you have any questions; it will be my pleasure to help you.

Thank you so much but I don’t see my website and social links in public mode. What should I do?

Reply

If that happens, you need to go buy like if you were editing them again, and change the privacy settings to “public” !

Simple steps – remarkable visibility!

Hit on save separately – that’s often never mentioned and you end-up revisiting your profile a week later to figure out how your profile got blasted to the past!

It’s good to learn about the interfaces technology offers to its users to make the most of it (to make money from it!). Once understood, it becomes cooler to do the things you do best!

Hi Saryan!

Exactly! 🙂 It’s amazing how many visitors I get from Facebook these days, and I’m sure these helps me a lot in my profile!

Thank you for your comments, always very insightful!

Hi Abhishek, that’s a very vague question! I would suggest you to use Siteground for your host, and you can start from there, get WordPress if that’s what you want, etc:)
