Are you capable?

Are you able to name two women in sciences ?! I am sure that very few people will be able to name two women. There are so many incredible scientists who deserve to be known and recognized for their discoveries. The game of which I write about today will allow you to know 44 women in science. Isn’t that amazing!? Keep reading the article if you want to know more!

The Game Women in Science

Created for children between 7 and 14 years old, the goal of the game is to form laboratories of 4 cards of identical colors. The colors are determined according to the field of the scientist:

  • Yellow: biology and medicine
  • Orange: astronomy and engineering
  • Green: ecology and geology
  • Purple: mathematics and computer sciences
  • Pink: psychology and anthropology

Some cards have two colors. These can contribute to both fields of science. Also, the game has some cards that allow you to clone a card or steal a lab from your opponent.

Any time during a game, take the time to stop and just read the descriptions of the women on the cards! It’s worth it.

Who made the game?

It’s a couple from Montréal: Anouk Charles and Benoit Fries. They have a 7-year-old daughter who made them realize they didn’t know how to show her remarkable women that could inspire her. They wanted to be able to teach her amazing women who did great things for our society.

By launching this card game, the two creators have the goal of helping young girls to have female models they can look up to. It is a great step forward and a concrete action in an attempt to encourage young girls to pursue their interest in science and mathematics by growing up.

How to Get the Game

You can buy the game on the company website. The game of cards is $ 16 (CAD). The women in space extension cost $ 8 (CAD). 20% of the profits are donated to organizations that promote women in science.

There is also a free PDF version – or an online version!
